Sensitive, Complex, and Whole

People keep telling you that you can’t be everything that you feel you are? Feeling sad because you just don’t fit to one community? Having strong emotions that people keep trying to tell you are too much or that you are too sensitive? Wanting support but feeling like you should be fine and don’t need any?

That’s where I come in. I feel that you can be all your parts and love who you are, regardless of what people say. In fact, I strongly believe that you can be happy being your full self - all of you - whole - including all of your strong and sensitive emotions.

Who I Am

I am Abigail “Abi” Faith Rebecca Weissman, Psy.D. (PSY 27497). I am a Jewish, queer, and trans - identified clinical psychologist providing therapy virtually for residents of California. During this time, I am only offering online therapy through an encrypted service. When the COVID-19 crisis has subsided, I will be returning to work in my offices in the Banker’s Hill and Rancho Bernardo communities of San Diego, California. You can also call me an empowering supporter and a self-love affirmer.

What I Do

I help teens and adults, including college students, of all genders who wish they could be their full queer, transgender, ADHD, religious, liberal, activist, polyamorous, and/or kink selves but hold themselves back because they are scared they will be unloved, unemployed, and rejected by their loved ones and communities.

Why?

I encourage clients to share their deepest wishes so that they can learn to be happy being themselves. I know from my own path to wellness and years of working with LGBTQIQA clients that it is possible to survive the fear of others’ judgment, hurt, and disappointment to live your true self.
