Our Banker’s Hill office
Accessibility
There are two steps to get into the building. There is a solid handrail on the left side of the building as you enter. There is no wheelchair accessible entrance to the building. Once into the building, you turn left into the suite where there are several chairs to sit on. Filtered hot and cold water is available as is tea. There is also a non gender / all gender bathroom in the suite.
Light
There is daylight from the two big windows in the office. There is also three lamps in the room. We welcome clients to let us know if at any time the light seems too bright or too direct so that we can change it to meet clients’ needs.
Parking
There is no dedicated client parking for this building. There is ample street parking available, usually within a block or two, allowing clients to park with ease. We are also 2 blocks from Balboa Park which also has abundant free parking (on most days).
Noise
There is some noise from the airplanes as we are right under the flightpath. Depending on the time of day, one might hear several planes go overhead in an hour. I’ve found that the noise is dampened when one is inside with the three doors in between them and the plane. I’ve noticed that sometimes, hearing a plane or seeing its shadow on the wall will become a reminder to take a deep breath in and out, to revel in being in the city so close to the airport and the Pacific ocean next to it, and to appreciate the wonder of science in creating such an amazing instrument, allowing us humans to flight.
We do use white noise to block some ambient noise from the waiting room. There is also the noise from the central air conditioning and heating unit. We can lower the white noise machine if it is bothersome but not completely turn it off for confidentiality reasons. Please let me know if the white noise machine is bothering you so we can look at ways to adjust it. We have limited control over the ambient temperature as it needs to be kept at an appropriate temperature for all people in the office suite.
Our Rancho Bernardo office (Beginning September 2019)
Accessibility
Our Rancho Bernardo office is elevator-accessible.
Light
There is a window to the hallway in the Rancho Bernardo office. In the near future, we are hoping to cover this window to filter out the florescent light from the hallway. There are three lamps in the room. We welcome clients to let us know if at any time the light seems too bright or too direct so that we can change it (to the best of our ability) to meet clients’ needs.
Parking
We have a private lot available to utilize. Parking is not covered and is available first come first serve.
Bathrooms
There are multi-stall gendered bathrooms. There is no all gender/no gender bathroom available. If you need to be in a space with an all gender, single stall bathroom, the Banker’s Hill office has an all gender, single stall bathroom for your use.
